Author Guidelines

  1. General Guidelines The Horizon Journal (THJ) accepts original research articles or literature reviews that align with the journal's focus and scope. Every submitted manuscript undergoes a double-blind peer review process. By submitting a manuscript, the author guarantees that the work:
  • Is the author's original work, free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.
  • Has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
  • The author assumes full responsibility for all matters related to copyright and IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) that may arise.
  1. Manuscript Preparation All manuscripts must be prepared according to the following provisions:
  • Language: Written in standard Indonesian or English.
  • Font: Garamond, size 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, with 0 pt spacing before and after paragraphs.
  • Paper & Margins: A4 paper (210 mm x 297 mm) with 2.5 cm margins on all sides (top, bottom, right, left).
  • Paragraphs: Each paragraph begins with an indentation of about 3 spaces.
  • Word Count: Abstracts in Indonesian should be 150-250 words long. The English abstract will adjust accordingly.
  • Abstract & Keywords: Written in a single paragraph, containing: objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Followed by 3-5 relevant keywords.
  1. Article Structure Original research manuscripts must follow this systematic structure:
  • Title: Provided in both Indonesian and English, no more than 15 words, in italic, and centered.
  • Author's Identity: Full name of the author (without academic titles), institutional affiliation, and email address.
  • Abstract & Keywords
  • Introduction: Background and research objectives are presented in integrated paragraphs without sub-headings.
  • Literature Review: A comprehensive analysis of relevant literature from various disciplines to demonstrate the unique contribution and position of this research.
  • Methodology: A detailed explanation of the methods used.
  • Results and Discussion: Presentation of findings accompanied by analysis and interpretation.
  • Conclusion: A summary of key findings and answers to the research questions, written in a paragraph (not bullet points).
  • Acknowledgments: (If applicable)
  • References: Only includes sources cited in the text.
  1. Citations and References
  • All citations, tables, and figures must follow the rules of APA Style 7th Edition.
  • Authors are required to use a reference management application such as Mendeley, EndNote, or similar software.
  • The minimum number of references used is 5.
  1. Submission Process
  • Manuscripts must be submitted online through The Horizon Journal (THJ) OJS system.
  • All authors' names must be entered when filling out the author information in the OJS system.

Submission Checklist

Authors must ensure the following before submitting a manuscript:

  • The manuscript adheres to all writing guidelines of The Horizon Journal (THJ).
  • References only include sources cited in the text, are managed with a Reference Manager, and follow APA Style format.
  • The manuscript is the author's original work and has passed a plagiarism check (similarity of less than 20% with iThenticate or Turnitin).
  • The author is willing to communicate well, be responsive, and be ethical during the review process.
  • The author will not withdraw a submitted manuscript, as withdrawal wastes valuable resources (time and effort of editors and reviewers) that have been invested.
