Focus and Scope
The Horizon Journal focuses on publishing original scholarly works that not only answer existing questions but also open up new ones and offer fresh perspectives that challenge conventional thinking. We prioritize articles that utilize a transdisciplinary approach to analyze complex problems, create holistic solutions, and unite global knowledge with local wisdom.
Our journal's scope is divided into three main pillars that reflect an exploration of new frontiers:
Frontiers of Science and Policy
This pillar focuses on research that integrates scientific data with social and political contexts, creating a synergy between the lab and society. Topics include:
- Technology innovation driven by ethical and social considerations
- Climate policy analysis from an environmental science, economics, and political perspective
- The utilization of local wisdom and traditional knowledge systems for sustainable innovation
Digital Exploration and the Future of Society
This pillar focuses on the dynamics of human interaction with technology and its implications for the evolution of society. Topics include:
- Interdisciplinary studies on the ethics, law, and social implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data
- Cultural and communication transformations in the digital age
- The role of technology in building social resilience and community fortitude
Humanity at New Frontiers
This pillar publishes research that explores human health and well-being from a broad, multidisciplinary spectrum. Topics include:
- Multi-perspective analysis of mental health and psychological well-being
- Studies on bioethics and law in biomedicine and biotechnology
- Research on human ecology and the relationship between the environment and global health
We seek articles that not only present findings but also chart a path forward. Each manuscript must demonstrate how the research pushes the boundaries of knowledge and contributes meaningfully to the future.
THJ welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, policy analyses, and transdisciplinary reviews that align with one or more of the journal’s thematic pillars. Submissions may focus on local, regional, or global contexts, as long as they contribute to broader theoretical or policy insights. We encourage methodological diversity, including qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and participatory approaches. All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process to ensure originality, rigor, and relevance.
